Colorado is an energy paradox. On the one hand, it’s a massive producer of crude oil (the fifth largest state in the country) and has significant reserves of natural gas. Yet much of what is mined in places like Weld County is exported elsewhere. Thanks to a vocal population of environmental advocates, Colorado has more than quadrupled its renewable electricity net generation since 2010, especially in wind power. And it’s leading the way in EV adoption.
So it’s no surprise to see that Colorado universities offer a wide range of energy degrees & certificates! To make it easy for you to choose, we’ve listed them all below. You may also wish to reach out to faculty at places such CU Boulder’s Research Institutes in Energy, the Mines Global Energy Future Initiative, and CSU’s Energy Institute to learn more about futuristic research opportunities.
